What Causes Bruises On Hands, Arms, Elbow And Wrist While On Lisinopril?
Question: My wife has for many year been very acceptable to bruises - particularly on her hands and arms.
One physician who was treating her for arthritic pain and being unable to sleep all night, found that her blood pressure had increased to 150/160 range. It had normally been below 128. He sent her to an internal med doctor who prescribed lisinopril 5mg tablet, one per day. Since then the bruising on her arms has increased dramatically. She now has a bruise on one arm that runs from elbow almost to her wrist. Other medications being taken are:
Levothyroxine 50 MCG- once daily-thyroid
Vitamin: Everyday Complete Health Formula - Kroger Brand
once daily
Citracal with D-1200 IU- once daily
Hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg – Once daily
Potassium Chloride Tab 10 MEQ CR - once daily
Tylenol for Arthritus only 6 per day only
Budesonide- EC3MG cap. 2 daily for Colon
Align - Probiotic - 1 daily
Could the lisinopril be causing the increased bruising?

I am so sorry to hear about this increased bruising. I will suggest that you up ahead and review Budesonide. this is the most likely culprit for the increased bruising. Talk to your doctor and get this drug substituted or dicontinued if possible.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
