Posted on Fri, 1 Jul 2016
Question: My husband fell off a ladder and grabbed onto the fence behind him. His fingers are bruised and were cut open on his way down. I have washed his hand with soap and water, sprayed it twice with peroxide, then put Neo Sporyn on a large pad bandage and covered it. He asked me to gauze tape them together so they won't move independently. His fingertips are numb. There was minimal blood. Does he need to go to an ER?

The numbness of the finger tips and the cut open wounds indicate that it may need stitches and proper antibiotic cover and anti-inflammatory medicines.

Fingers are one of the most important parts of the body hence an utmost care should be taken.
Elevation of the affected part above the heart level in lying down position helps to reduce the pain and the edema.
