What Causes Bump And Circle On Upper Thigh?

Question: I have a strange bump and circle on my upper thigh. What is it?
Below is an image. I have had it 5 days

HI.
Thanks for a good photograph.

This is a classical furuncle with inflammation which has spread to the surrounding tissues. This is a common feature seen particularly in the thighs and legs.

Get a small course of an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicines.
Please also get your blood sugar checked .
Apply liquid povidone iodine on this and the area surrounding it to make it sterile to avoid secondary infection.

This would settle soon if you take proper medicines as advised.
Do not fiddle with it or try to pop, it may spread fast.

Is that because its contagious? Or because the infection will spread firther

You are absolutely right , the infection may spread further. At least it will be responsible for delayed healing.
