What Causes Bump Below My Left Knee Cap After A Knee Injury?
Question: I fell last Friday on my left knee with my dogs. I still have a huge bump (lump) below my left knee cap. I realize it could be a bursa, but am not really sure. Should I go to the doctor?
Brief Answer:
If you have any pain, an x-ray should be done.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
If you feel any pain when walking or palpating it, you definitely should consult your doctor. An x-ray should be done to make sure there is no fractures.
However if its completely painless you may wait and see if the lump will go away or not. Lump in this area is usually a hematoma or soft tissue compression. Bones fracture usually impedes with walking.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
