What Causes Burning Sensation All Over The Body,neck And Head?
Question: I have a burning sensation all over my body, but specially on my neck, head and arms area. It is started milder on Thursday, and now it is close to extreme (I cant sleep). Precondition: right sinus surgery on May 12, infection of sinus including Pseudomonas, antibiotics treatment, last Tazocin was given IV for two weeks and discontinued on Wednesday before symptoms started because of no apparent improvement. I am axially do not have any unmanageable disturbances in sinus area (fill pressure around my eye, had some sensations in my head prior this, yellow discharge from the back of my mouth). I went to see two different doctors this morning (at emergency and Infectionist who prescribed Tazocin), and both of them said that I have normal vital signs and no symptoms of any illness, and I should go see my ET surgent (who is on vacation). I don't know how I can manage until Thursday when I have appointment with him. I took 2 doses of benadryl (my daughter's) just to sleep for couple hours.

I think, you have sinusitis. In sinusitis, patients could help have localized pain or headache. You are getting burning sensation in whole body mainly in arm, shoulder or neck, that could not be due to sinusitis. Either it could be anxiety symptoms or withdrawal symptoms of Tazocin. Withdrawal with Tazocin is very rare( 1 in 1000). In that case, these symptoms could be due to anxiety. Better to take a low dose benzodiazepine like xanax or klonopin. You need prescription for that as these drugs are not available over the counter.
