What Causes Burning Sensation At Tip Of Penis While Urinating?
Question: I had burning in the tip of my penis when urinating. That went away after about for five days. Then I started feeling like flulike symptoms in my stomach back buttocks and upper legs and penis. Sensitive achy skin feeling. I only have trouble urinating when I wake up in the middle of the night. My penis in my prostate itch now especially after I ejaculate. Urine and blood tests showed nothing they wanted me to go on Cipro but I am holding off until I see a urologist. This has been going on for about three weeks the flu like feeling in my legs and back are really helped by ibuprofen. What do you think?

symptoms of UTI
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
These are symptoms of UTI and more common upper part of urinary tract such as prostatitis or even pyelonephritis and less possible cystitis or urethritis. All 4 of these UTIs dont need to be shown in basic urine analysis. It is associated with inguinal, lower back and lower abdominal pain and burning. You need to do urinoculture, prostate and kidney ultrasound. this will rule out infection and possible prostate hypetrophy or ureteral stones. It is always recommended to take antibiotics empirically in these cases and it cipro is first choice. WIsh you good health. Regards
