What Causes Burning Sensation During Urination?

default
Posted on Wed, 26 Oct 2016
Question: Hi, I picked up a bad case of conjunctivitis (pink eye) about 5 days ago. I went to an eye doctor who prescribed eye drops. It is helping, but slowly. I've subsequently noticed a burning sensation when I urinate, so I am wondering if I might have picked up chlamydia or a urinary tract infection, and if these symptoms could be related?

Brief Answer:
These symptoms of conjunctivitis and burning urination are unrelated

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for query .

Symptoms of conjunctivitis and burning urination that you have are not related to each other .

Please get your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.

Please take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefotaxime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkalizer thrice daily .Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.

Ensure to drink more water .To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions , I shall be happy to help you .
Thanks and Regards.
