Brief Answer:
Probably a urinary tract infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for contacting us at healthcare magic.

I have reviewed your information fully. You wife probably has a urinaty tract infection. she would need an antibiotic for treatment. my most commonly used medication is bactrim. I suggest you contact your doctor for a script as this is only available on prescription. In the meantime, let her drink much water to help cleanse the urinaty passages. Tylenol would help with pain.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. feel free to follow up with me if need be.

As a long time diabetic, my wife's biggest concern is her kidneys. Her doctor a first said she had a urinary tract infection and put her ciproflaxin, but then after the culture came back negative, he told her to stop taking the cipro. The slow urination and burning afterwards combined with low back pain worries her, so she started taking the cipro again. She has been drinking a lot of fluids and doesn't seem to be eliminating as much volume. Can these symptoms be caused by kidney failure or a bladder issue? Should my wife get another test on her urine?

Brief Answer:
I suggest she gets a test for kidney function!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for this detail follow up information. I will suggest she gets a kidney function test. If this is normal, we would have had responses to hear greatest fear. If she were not urinating as much following much fluid consumption, she would be expected to put on extra weight. Do you have the impression of her swelling up and gaining more pounds than usual?

In all, let her do kidney function test. There is no problem continuing with ciprofloxacin, be it on precautionary grounds.

I hop etc hear back from you and I wish you well.
