What Causes Burning Sensation In Upper Abdomen?
Question: My mother is 59 years old and suffering from burning sensation of the upper abdomen either after breakfast or lunch or both and the intensity varies, some days it is severe and some days it is mild. Burning sensation lasts anywhere from half an hour to 2 hrs after taking food. Midnight and early morning she feels extremely hungry at times. She has been suffering from this problem for the last 1 year on and off but no remedy. She has visited multiple doctors and it has still not cured. Everytime, for the first 2 months of treatment she has no complaints but again in the third month of treatment she is reporting the same complaints even while medication. She is extremely depressed with her condition now. The recently visited doctor did endoscopy and said it is antral gastrities and started treatement. She was fine for 2 months under treatment. When she reported the complaints again, the doctor asked her to stop the medicines once the current course end and said it might be due to mindset or due to gallstones. So he has asked her to meet him only if she has plans to get gallstones removed. We are extremely confused as what to be done next. PLease find attached the medicines and reports from the last 2 doctor visits. Please help

No she has not been tested for H.pylori infection as far as I know. She doesn't have diabtetes. She is taking BP tablets, cholesterol tablets and thyriod tablet (50 mcg).
The tablets that she has been prescribed for gastritis has come to an end on July 3rd. Since last 2 or 3 days she is now complaining of extreme hunger post lunch till night.. Every 1 hr she is feelimg hungry and need to eat something and she feels alright. Again it repeats in an hour or so. During nights as well she wakes up due to hunger atleast couple of times. Please advice.
