Question: I have chronic insomnia I can not remain asleep even with sleeping pills.I also have burning feet. I do not have diabetus and have had a test and my nerves are healthy. They burn at night and when at rest but also when im on them a lot or when its hot. A cold pack often helps. When they burn at night and I get out of bed it often hurts to walk but during the day they don't hurt when walking bare foot on cold tile.

Brief Answer:
Neural cause suspected

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.
Burning sensation on under surface of feet is suggestive of post-menopausal symptoms.
Hormone replacement therapy is the treatment for estrogen deficiency after menopause, however you are already taking hormone replacement therapy.
Thus, other causes for the burning sensation has to be found out.
I suspect a neural cause for the burning sensation under the feet.
Diabetes mellitus is a cause for decreased sensations in extremities, however, it is also ruled out.
I suggest you to consult a neurologist for clinical assessment and thus management.
Methycobalamine and pregabalin may help you. Discuss about these medication with your doctor after clinical examination.

If you have more queries, I will be glad to answer.

Thank you I'm interested in the post menopausal you mentioned as along with the burning feet I become very hot not sweating but very hot and it takes a while to cool down I'm taking 1 mg of estradiol do you think that is enough.

Brief Answer:
Discuss about dose of estradiol with your gynec

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome again,
I am of the opinion that you need to discuss about the dosage of estradiol with your gynecologist.
In the meanwhile you can take methylcobalamin and pregabalin and see if these supplements help to relieve the symptoms.

Thanks and take care
