Brief Answer:
See below explanation.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

The word 'palsi chalna' means chest indrawing.

It is usually seen in an infants...when babies have troubled breathing while it looks like their chest is sucking in by the ribs.

Its is actually retractions of the accessory chest muscles and it shows that the child is working way to hard to breathe.

It is not usually seen in adults unless, any condition that causes either reduced lung compliance, like pneumonia, or increased tissue/airway resistance, like asthma, causes chest indrawing leading to breathing difficulty.

So in your sister-in law's case,it must be evaluated thoroughly by pulmonologist to rule out any respiratory or lung problem if she is facing this problem since long time.

It might be possible that she get relieved from the symptoms by massaging with olive but the underlying cause must evaluated.

You may require complete blood count,Chest x-ray,pulmonary function tests or HRCT thorax but only after pulmonologist's advise.

Thanks and Regards,
