What Causes Chest Pain In An Elderly Person Diagnosed With Cholelithiasis?
This is for my mother she is 74yrs old and recently she started getting left side chest pain along with pain in left hand and shoulder. She underwent some diagnostic test and got her heart medicines reviewed. Fot this i raised a question on healthcare magic as well.
Now here is my main concern.
Yesterday i again took her for complete health checkup and in ultrasound report it shows that she has bilateral renal parenchyma disease grade 1, she was also suffering from cholelithiasis from past 4-5 years.
Along with that we also found that her BUN blood urea is 33.60, uric acid 8.4, homocysteine is 36.16
I want to more about bilateral renal parenchyma disease grade 1,
1. What it is, why is occurs.
2. Is it treatable, cureable with just medicines
3. What precautions are required esp food
4. How to get BUN in recommended range ASAP!!
Do we have effective treatment options available in Ayurveda or unani medicine....
.
Respected xxx, RPD is treatable requiring multimodal approach .
Detailed Answer:
Respected xxx, hi I evaluated your query thoroughly.
(1)Renal Parenchymal Disease grade 1 : It is not a single disease but a
pathological status.Nephrons in kidneys loss their ability to remove the waste
products from the blood causing various symptoms. Causes are :
- Bacterial infections - Lupus - kidney stones - diabetes - high blood pressure
- autoimmune disorders - obstructions .
(2) It is treatable with medicines & diet , exercise & healthy living contribute
to the remission of Renal Parenchymal Disease.
(3)Specifications for food :
@ Low salt diet - limit daily salt intake & avoid salty foods like chiken eggs,
salted vegetables.
@ Low protein diet -meats, soyabeans, cheese or other high value protein
should be limited .
@ Limited Phosphorus and potassium - control protein intake such as milk and
milk products.
@ Avoid all oily / spicy / nonveg stuffs / beverages / excess ghee / cheese /
excess sugar / sweeteners.
(4) To control BUN levels early along with food precautions :
@ Regular gentle exercises - walking , jogging. Avoid strenuous exercises.
@ Regular meditations & YOGA.
@ Maintain proper hydration levels.
@ Avoid stress / anxiety.
@ Have adequate sleep of 8 hours.
@ Avoid smoking / alcohol / any abuse substances if used.
@ Keep BP , Blood sugar levels under control.
@ Definite treatment is only aimed at root cause. as control of long term
Diabetes and hypertension with medicines & dietary , lifestyle management.
* BUN levels gradually come down it takes time which is variable from person
to person & body immune response affecting blood supply to kidneys.
* No different specific molecules available in Ayurveda / Unami medicines.
Hope this clears you with your queries.

= Bye dear take care.
I have attached last years Ultrasound report along with last two days report. Today my brother took my mom for another ultrasound check up as he was not convinced by the report findings. In today's report it shows that she has 5mm kidney stones in right kidney and 4mm stone in left kidney and more over the sonologist did not mentioned anything about renal parenchymal disease grade 1 in today's report as well..... !!
so my brother showed him two days back report and then he modified his report by adding " renal parenchymal disease correlate with renal biochemical parameters...." !!!
Hence, i would like to know....
1. If these reports can be trusted and can we same for a consultation with a nephrologist....
2. In today's report why sonologist was unable to find renal parenchymal disease initially and how come in two days old report its present
3. Also in two days old report the largest gall bladder report shows as 3 cms where as in today's report its mentioned that largest stone is about 5 mm only
It seems like a lot of discrepancy in these two reports.
Please review and suggest
Also i have attached CUE, CBP and other reports as well...
Respected xxr, hi find discrepancy correlation herewith.
Detailed Answer:
Respected xxx, hi I underwent through all new, old reports thoroughly.
(1) If Biochemistry is reliable, she mandates Nephrologist opinion definately.
(2)Finding of Renal Parenchymal disease with grade 1 changes require expertise
alongwith conditions of full bladder, dilated calyces to evaluate it, so partial
factors from Radiologist error with partially fulfilled clinical need of other
things lead to discrepency of it.
(3)Gall bladder stone size is out of question to be 5 mm because in 2016 USG it
was 12 mm & other USG 3cm , so it`s printing mistake or Radiologist error.
*In Radiology , we have seen much more discrepencies in best known centers
in our long 18 years practise.
*My expert opinion regarding all :
One can`t judge with discripant reports but after all 3 reports it is clear that
@ Size of Left kidney from 11.4X5.6 cm has came to 9.7X5.2 cm showing
shrinkage , proving her to be candidate of Renal Parenchymal disease.
@ Presence of Renal stones of 5 mm sizes are also supportive , must be missed
in prior report.
@ Must take treatment of Nephrologist for altered Biochemistry at present to
take control of BUN & uric acid.
@ Gall bladder asymptomatic stone is of not that much concern at this point,
so relieve stress about it.
@ Ayurvedic medications for Stone dissolution are recommended in confidence
with Nephrologist.
Hope this makes you more clear.
Bye dear thanks
