What Causes Cold And Severe Coughing Fits Along With Wheezing Sound?
Some practical advices
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using HCM to post your question.
I read it carefully and I understand your concern.
I see that you are taking antibiotics. They will need at least 24 hours to start working and making you feel better. If you have more then 24 hours using it and still not better, then the infection you have either is a viral infection or the antibiotics are not working.
Drinking plenty of fluids will help you feel better because will prevent dehydration and also soften to secretions coming from the lungs. Hot fluids will also do some steam therapy.
Take paracetamol or Ibuprofen for pain, aches, and fever.
If the cough medicine is not helping, you may try switching to another one. But generally they do not work because the lungs need their time to regenerate the airways.
Honey has proven to be helpful with cough and foods rich in vit C have proven to shorten the symptoms.
I don't know how helpful this is, but after all the infection needs its time to go away, and these advises are only to relieve symptoms while you are on this infection.
If you have fever longer then 5 days, if fever restarts and you start feeling worse, if you have shortness of breath or chest pain - all these are indications for you to go see a local doctor who can examine your lungs and prescribe stronger antibiotic.
Let me know if you need more clarifications.
