
What Causes Constant Dizziness In Elderly?

Question: A few weeks ago I sat up in bed in the morning and had dizzy spell tumbled me on my back. I'm still having it when I move my head from lateral to vertical, sitting up or bending lateral etc. I'm 67, male and this is something very new.

Dizziness at this age may be due to cervical spondylosis or vestibular neuronitis or less commonly stroke.
Is there any neck pain, radiating pain to limbs, shoulder. any diabetes, blood pressure or medication being taken.
Is the dizziness continous or episodic?
Any hearing loss, ringing in ear, fullness of ear.
For treatment you can avoid extreme neck turning, flexion and extension.
Medications like dizitac twice daily may be taken for dizziness.

I'd say the light-headedness at top of head is continuous, just more so when moving as described before. No neck pain or radiating pain. I do have heart disease, clogging in one artery, and take Lipitor, but no blood pressure problems or diabetes medication. No problem with ears.
