What Causes Constant Fever While Suffering From Ear Infection?
Question: Hi, my daughter 5 Yrs old got endoscopy done as she had bleeding while she had ear infection and the fever wasn't coming down for 6 days and we kept giving Tylenol and Motrin alternatively. The 7th day she has black blood in her mouth and while vomit too.
Endoscopy didn't show anything. However now she has low grade fever around 99.8/99.9 for past month since her endoscopy was done. Got her TB test, ESR, HEMOGLOBIN , HIB, WBC CBC done and everything is normal. She do have enlarged adenoids.
Can some one pls advice why she has this fever going on?

Brief Answer:
Low grade fever is due to the rhino sinusitis
Detailed Answer:
HI,
I have gone through your question; and it suggests that most probably low grade fever to your daughter is due to the rhino sinusitis.
I would like to prescribe that she may take antibiotic effective against the H influenza such as cefuroxime axetil with clavulinic acid after consulting her doctor.
I would also like to suggest that supportive treatment such as steam inhalation, local and systemic nasal decongestant; and steroid nasal spray for enlarged adenoids that are also responsible for rhino sinusitis.
