Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I carefully passed through your medical history and would explain that your symptoms seem to be related to a metabolic disorder, probably a hormonal imbalance.

I recommend consulting with your GP for a careful physical exam and some tests:

- complete blood count for chronic anemia
- thyroid hormone levels for possible thyroid dysfunction
- plasma levels of prolactine. Elevated prolactine levels can lead to breast growth and lactation
- cortisol plasma levels for possible adrenal gland dysfunction
- blood electrolytes, for possible electrolyte imbalance
- kidney and liver function tests
- inflammation tests (PCR, sedimentation rate)
- fasting glucose
- sexual hormone levels

If any hormonal imbalance are encountered in the above tests, further tests may be necessary like a brain MRI to examine your pituitary gland, which is the main hormonal gland in our body, which controls the adrenal, thyroid gland, prolactine production and sexual hormone release.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri

As mentioned, hormone levels are all with in normal range, thyroid too.

Had an MRI and CT of brain - normal.

Negative for anemia as well.

Endo dropped me - all levels were normal, not a problem with endocrine.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

Thank you for the additional information!

What about cortisol plasma levels? What about sexual hormone levels?

Did you consult with your gynecologist? Have you performed an ultrasound of the ovaries to examine for possible cysts?

The fact that you have a sudden loss in your body weight, with a menstrual cycle irregularity goes in favor of a hormonal imbalance.

If the pituitary gland is intact and the prolactine levels are normal, further investigations should be performed (regarding your genital organs and their function).

Other tests to consider would be inflammation tests. An autoimmune disorder, leading to inflammation could lead to this clinical scenario.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.

Hope to have been helpful!

Greetings!

Dr. Iliri
