What Causes Constant Heavy Menstrual Bleeding With Clots And Debilitating Cramps?

Posted on Fri, 10 Feb 2017
Question: I am 50 year-old female. in 2012 my periods stopped and prior to that I was having pain during intercourse. in 2016. I did two rounds of an estrogen pellet and took progesterone dissolving pills under the tongue. The hot flashes went away, but in September 2016, I started to have a constant heavy period. By October, it was horrible - clots, extreme debilitating cramps, etc. On November 8th, I had a D&C - they found polyps, but said they were benign. Since then i have been having an on again off again period with the last two weeks with horrible cramps (akin to day 1 period) EVERY day. The bleeding is getting worse.
