What Causes Constant Hip Pain?

default
Posted on Fri, 30 Jan 2015
Question: I am sixty and my hip joints cause me constant pain. My chiropractor says that my left hip falls out of alienment and causes my right hip to twist. X-rays show moderate wear, no need for replacements. I have been taking 800 mg of ibuprofen 3 times a day. it stopped working. I don't take it much now. What do you suggest to help this pain? The pain has caused me to get somewhat out of shape. Are there excercises I can do? I was told to do squats to help build the muscles up.Doing them and I am really sore!! Can you help me? Thanks, XXXX

For hip arthritis joint flexion, extension and rotation exercises will help.
Physiotherapist will help you better to learn more exercises in proper protocol.
Avoid doing squats as muscles are sore.

While lying flat on your back you can flex hip and knee towards your stomach as much as you can.You can repeat this with other leg and then with both legs.

If required intra-articular injection can be given this will give pain relief for longer duration.
