What Causes Constant Pain In The Throat And Chest Area?

This is regarding my 4 yr old son Aarush diagnosed with viral fever and chest congestion on 19th Aug 16. the below were advised -
Synclar 5ml 2 times a day
Relent
Nasivion
Nasoclear
Nebulization
Crocin ds / meftal based on need
6 doses of Synclar are complete, he's showing no signs of improvement. He's still running 102-103 F temperature every 4 to 6 hours. We are doing sponging and giving Crocin every time.
He also has developed some (only one) ulcer type thing in mouth - see attached pic. No rashes on his body. He constantly complains of pain in throat to chest area and asks us to rub his back.
attached are his CBP & CRP reports.
Please advise.
Bacterial infection which needs further evaluation
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I understand your concerns but don't worry. The symptoms and reports are suggestive of bacterial infection of respiratory tract. I would recommend you to go for a chest X Ray and throat swab culture. If he is not responding to Synclar then hold it and start with better antibiotic such as Syp. Cephalexin (15-20 mg/kg/dose twice daily) which covers streptococcal infection. Streptococcal infection is very common cause of such episodes in this age group.
Continue with relent, nasivion nasoclear. No need for nebulizer if chest is not congested. Give Meftal P for high grade fever as advised by your doctor.
You may upload the reports for my review so that we may plan further management accordingly.
Take care
