Hello Doctor, My daughter is 35 days old and she s sufferring from cold added with nasal blockage. When i check with my doc he prescribed trifect for 3 days and Nasivion S Drop, but still then her cold and nasal blockage still remains .during my second visit he prescribed Febrex plus with Nasivion S drop. I m using Nasivion drop twice a day. She didn t go for motion for the last 2 days. Doctor said its normal. Could you please let me know 1) can we use Nasivion drop more than twice (like whenever she feels hard to breath due to nasal blockage) 2) What can we do if she didn t go motion more than three days 3) I m also having cold. Can i take any tablet or is the drug she s using is enough Please guide me Thanks
hello,
welcome to hcm
thanks for the query
yes you can put one drop of nasal drop in each nostril alternatively. means if you are putting now one drop in right nostril then after 4 hours you put one drop in the left one.
not to worry if she is not passing stool for another day or two
yes your doctor prescribed the right medication . cont with it.antibiotic drops can be put if required
check for any respiratory distress.
hope this information will be helpful to you
take care
Hello
Thanks for the query
1) Yes, you can use it upto 6 times a day. Its a plane saline drop so it will nit cause any harm. Be careful while instilling the drop, never use saline in both side at a time, put first in one then after 1-2 mint. in other one.
2) Passing 6-8 stools in a day or once in 5-6 days is normal for this age. Rule out any thyroid problem by consulting your pediatrician.
3) If any one in family is suffering from cold he or she should stay away from the baby. But as you are mother it is not possible, so avoid direct exposure by using face mask if possible and get your early treatment.
I hope this answers your query well
Wish you and your family good health
