What Causes Constant Popping Noise In Left Knee?
My left knee is continuously making a popping/cracking noise when I walk. I feel no pain and continue to go to the gym/run, and dance multiple nights a week (ballroom, Tango, and Salsa). I'm concerned because this loud cracking occurs with every step.

Detailed Answer:
Hi!
Welcome to health care magic!
I am Dr. Saddiq Ul Abidin. I have read your problem in detail and will try to help you in best way possible.
First of all, it is sad that you have been facing this symptom lately, and it must have been quite disturbing for you. Actually out joints are complicated structures which have multiple mechanisms to provide us with variety of movements.
With usage, or some other factors or diseases, the adjoining surfaces which are otherwise kept lubricated with joint fluids and smooth membranes get wearing and tearing, and get dried up.
As your symptoms and history is suggestive of the same problems. You are into fair bit of athletics and this over usage night have caused the same, as happens with many athletes.
But this doesn't mean, that the scenario is that dark. You need to visit an orthopedician, and you might be asked for Xray of the affected joint, and MRI if Xrays are not suggestive. You might need to have some blood screening tests, like ESR, CRP, ANA, calcium and phosphate levels.
Meanwhile, you can use some good analgesics like diclofenac sodium after discussion with your GP. Later an orthopedician will be able to assess extent of damage or disease and will be able to offer you therapeutic options whether medical or surgical.
Hope this has answered your query, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. kindly rate me maximum before closing, and leave your feedback if possible.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ul abidin.
