Acute therapy/Prophylaxis
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up and providing further details.
If the diagnosis of migraine is confirmed and symptoms are troublesome, then I suggest that you should be on anti-migraine therapy for acute attacks.Main drugs for the same are 'Triptans' and 'Ergots' besides non steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines(NSAIDS) and opioids.
Prophylactic medicines are amitriptyline, beta blocker, calcium channel blockers and anticonvulsants.
Please start anti-migraine therapy under the guidance of a physician. Also, please try to find out the trigger factors for your migraine and avoid them.
If you have further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.
Regards
Dr.Ajay Panwar,
MD,DM(Neurology)
