Question: I'm going on 80 yrs. Been exposed to vapors wood dust and much more.Exposed to asbestes for well over 30 yrs.I contracted prostate ,son kidney with 7 lb tumor attached,wife in nurseing home died from renal fail.daughter died fom mast.kidney.All cancers except the renal Fail.I had surgery in 1971 bleeding ulcers.Suffer late dumping,hypoglocima,acid reflux,dementia,IBS,COPD,Hernia`,Asthma,Sleep Apena and other minor.I know the ulcer surgery can cause the dumping and low sugar.The rest ????I Served 20 plus yrs in the USCG AND NAVY.Forced to retire from my job when I was 57 yrs old. Brief Answer: Hello Detailed Answer: Thanks for the query It looks like you have not been diagnosed properly as there are a lot of diagnoses and their differentials as well 1. COPD/Asthma COPD and asthma are similar issues, they are obstrutctive airway diseases. The only difference is asthma is familial but COPD is aquired. Since there is strong history of exposure to dust I am sure you have COPD than asthma. The treatment of both COPD and asthma are simialar 2. IBS/ Late dumping IBS is again a diagnosis of exclusion, where if one does not find any other cause of IBS then this diagnosis is done. However since there you have a history of intestinal surgery then definitely the symptoms of IBS is secondary to it. IBS usually occurs in people who are diabetics, suffer from anxiety disorders or people who consume large amounts of alcohol and those who smoke. 3. Acid reflux Acid reflux is most probably due to the tablets you might be on or it could be due to irregular food habits. It is a very common issue and it is easily treatable.
