What Causes Corneal Edema Following Lasik Surgery?
Question: Hi..I had Lasik 5 days ago on 27th may 2015. I am myopic with -5.25 in tight eye & -4.25 in left eye & cornea thickness of around 480 microns it's been five days and my vision is still not clear seems like I need specs of around -0.5 or somewhat.
When doctor checked me after 2days of Lasik I told him that vision is not clear 100% he said that lt is because of corneal swelling and will recover by time as your cornea is healing.
I am worried as my friends who had undergone Lasik said vision becomes 100% clear in 2-3 days.
Is it like that?

Hello
Welcome to Health care Magic.
I am Dr. DADAPEER K, an Ophthalmologist and I will be answering your question.
I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that you have undergone Lasik and you are having blurred vision even after 5 days.
The possible causes are inflammation caused by surgery or corneal edema following surgery.
The visual improvement depends on the wound healing and inflammation induced by surgery.
This can vary from individual to individual.
Hence no need to be worried.
You can wait till 2 weeks to look for improvement in vision.
Hope this information is helpful to you.
Thank you
With regards
