Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
It would really have been helpful if you could upload an image. A not-so-high resolution XXXXXXX camera image should be fine. You can upload it using the facility on the upper right of this page.
Anyway, I would like to know more about these dark patches. I would need to know:
* Whether they have been present since birth. If not, from when?
* Its size and whether they are expanding.
* Any other relevant description.
If it is a congenital nevus, unless for cosmetic issues, you need not do anything. Removal would involve surgical methods. However, I doubt if you need to be proactive about it.

Brief Answer:
Seems to be melanosis. You would not be able to remove them.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back.
I have checked the attached image. It seems to be a benign condition called melanosis. It is unlikely to be due to walking barefooted. In case of melanosis, not much can be done for the removal of these marks. However, the possibility of another condition called acanthosis nigricans needs to be excluded. Acanthosis is generally associated with certain cancers and hence is a cause for concern. However, at the age of 15 years, acanthosis is unlikely and had it been so, you would have other symptoms by now. In any case, visiting a dermatologist and getting a clarification would be a good idea.
