What Causes Decrease In The Breast Size While On Birth Control Pills?
Question: My daughter had been on the birth control patch for a year and than had a implanon inserted 5 months ago. He breasts has decreased by half their size. I can not find any information that this is a side affect. Since the implant she has only had 1 period that lasted 7 days.

Hi XXXX, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.Implanon is a progesterone implant which has the common side effect of irregular menstrual cycles after its insertion. Some patients develop prolonged amenorrhea( absence of periods) while others develop bleeding or spotting in between the periods.
Decrease in the breast size cannot be attributed to the implanon, as it causes breast enforcement and breast pain. Please do communicate to me if she had some other illness or taking some other medications.
I would suggest her to get a urine pregnancy test done as she has missed her periods, but most likely it will be negative as implanon has a very low failure rate.

She also switch from using Dexmethylphenidate er to Quillivant xr about the same time. There is a drastic change in her bust from 34ddd to 32d there has only been a 5 lbs weight loss. She has been on ADHD medicine since 3rd grade. No other health issues.
