What Causes Delay In Menstruation?
Question: Why is my period 12 days late and 2 negative pregnancy test? I have the nexplonon birth control in my arm which expired from February 1 2015 and i had unprotected sex. While using this birth control for the 3 years I had regular periods. What's happening to my body

Your period may be delayed due to hormonal imbalance as your implanon( nexplanon ) is expired.
Usually implanon may cause menstrual irregularities and it may cause amenorrhea also.
As in your case you had normal period on implanon, so as your implanon is expired it may cause hormonal imbalance, which may further delayed your period.
The chances of pregnancy are not there as you had negative pregnancy test after 12 days of missed period.
