Brief Answer:
Perhaps due to lack of ovulation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

Since you are already in the menopausal age, it is likely that you may have either delayed ovulation or absent ovulation subsequent to the stoppage of the pill and as such, may have had a delayed period.

The usual cause of breast tenderness prior to the onset of a menstrual period is the engorgement secondary to hormones. This occurs as a result of ovulation. Failure to experience tenderness could happen either due to the dwindling hormones secondary to peri-menopause or due to lack of ovulation. Pills do not throw any effect so long after stoppage.

Please wait for a week to see if you receive a period; else, you may see a specialist for further evaluation and help.

Hope I have answered your query. Please feel free to contact for further clarifications. I will be happy to help.

regards,
Shanti.V.
