Hi,
Yes i do have abdominal pain. I did have a bowel resection two years ago (ascending colon and part of the Tranverse Colon) due to a sessile polyp. No cancer found. Both before and after surgery I have experienced this issue. I do have a gluten sensitivity. Do you think the undigested food particles could be Leaky Gut Syndrome?

Brief Answer:
Not leaky gut syndrome!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this follow up information.
This is not suggestive of leaky gut syndrome. The short gut may be responsible for this as food moves faster that should actually be through the gut. This makes digestion no t be as effective as it should.. Most water is reabsorbed in the colon and with a greater proportion removed, it would not be uncommon for you to have loose stools from time to time.
Should the pain persist more than 2hours, let me know and together we would make a decision to seek for consultation or not.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to keep the discussion going if need be.

Yes what you are saying makes perfect sense except how do you explain it happening before the surgery. I mean the undigested food. This has been happening for quite some time now. Its just worse since the surgery. Lets assume I didnt have the surgery - what would be a cause for food not being digested?
Brief Answer:
See below!
Detailed Answer:
The causes of food not being well digested are several.
There are some meals that pass rapidly through the intestine like in the case of intolerance. For example, should you at something that contains gluten and it provokes intolerance, the transit would be accelerated and the body cannot have enough time to digest the food properly. There would be no other option but to see this undigested food. This also happens when you eat poorly preserved food.
Other causes of indigestion could be liver disease, gall bladder disease, pancreatic conditions, etc. Your symptoms are not suggestive of this. Taking your symptoms and history as a whole, shortened transit time would be most appropriate here.
The fact that you have gluten sensitivity meals you probably have an allergic terrain and can easily develop intolerance to many other stuffs than others do.
I hope this helps. Let me hear from you.
