Brief Answer:
If too sleepy needs evaluation.

Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

Some signs of possible brain damage would be intense or increasing headache, nausea and vomiting, confusion, strange behavior, decreased level of consciousness, double vision or other visual issues, weakness of the limbs on one side, seizures.

In the elderly the threshold to suspect a brain lesion or a complication like subdural hemorrhage should be lower, there should be a high level of suspicion as they are more prone to complications. For that reason if she is abnormally sleepy, having trouble to wake her up, then I believe she should be urgently evaluated. By that I mean being taken to the emergency room for evaluation and eventually head imaging.

I remain at your disposal for other questions.
