What Causes Dizziness In Diabetic Patient With History Of Heart Attack?

I need further details.
Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend.
Hi , I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I have read your query in detail , I understand your concern.
Since you are a diabetic, you are prone to atherosclerosis leading to Heart
attack and also Stroke.
If your Stress test was good 6 month back, but your blood sugar is high and you had a few symptoms you should undergo re testing.
I would like to know a few more details, in order to guide you better:
1. On what medications you are? Aspirin and Atorvastatin?
2. When you had dizziness, did you have any weakness of any part of body associated? Any slurring of speech?
3. How did it revert? Spontaneously?
4. For how much time did your dizziness persisted?
5. Do you have any breathlessness or chest pain?
6. What medication are you taking for diabetes?
7. How about your kidney function test and Lipid Profile?
This is my personal opinion based on details available here. If you still have any other query, you may please ask me and answer these questions preferably in point wise manner.
Stay Healthy.
Dr Anshul Varshney , MD

I was only dizzy for 1 day....I was super sick the night before I had no sleeo and had a huge fever that night and I sweated it out like a pig.....and the next day I was dizzy...and my blood sugar was off like high 300+too much candy and regular coke...I know that is bad for me.. I know that is bad...I got it down the next day in half......and the dizzy stopped a lot by the end of the day... I felt less dizzy and by the time the next day happended I had no really dizziness....
so the dizzy just went away on it's own
I had no chest pain or shortness of breath when this happened....I would have gone to the hospital as I know that is bad.....
but now I am just tired and still dizzy at times like when I bend over but I have always felt like that forever...........and I am wondering if it is serious????
again I passed my stress test and my cordordiated artery test....and the cardolgist told me to come back in 6 months as I am good!!!!
I have not had a kidney function test...but I have no problem going to the bathroom........

Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend,
As far as your coronaries are concerned, i don't find any reason for worry because you have cleared your stress test.
I am just concerned about your Cerebro Vascular system
However, since you are on Aspirin and Simvastatin, you are being protected.
I would advise you following:
1. To get your blood pressure checked.
2. To get a Lipid Profile.
3. To get Glycosylated hemoglobin to see for your blood sugar control, if it is not good, you would require addition of another drug for a better control.
4. Kidney function tests, i asked particularly in concern to see for any Diabetic nephropathy. Moreover, you are taking Tamsulosin, you must be having prostate problem that further effects kidneys if they cause obstruction. So, i would advise you to get Kidney Function test and Urine for Albumin.
5. If you have persistent Dizziness, i would suggest you to go for Four Vessel Cerebral Angiogram and carotid doppler, to see for any problem there.
I would be glad, if you revert to me with these investigations.
I wish you a long and healthy life.
If you have any further query, please ask me.
