What Causes Dizziness, Nausea And Vomiting After Head Injury?
Question: A week ago tomorrow, I fell backward and hit my head. Since then, there has been some dizziness, nausea, and vomiting only once, but not severe. I have been taking Tylenol for some headaches. I'm 62. Is this something to worry about. Also, when I switch positions on pillow, moving head side to side there is dizziness. Do I have a brain bleed?
Follow up. I also have trouble falling asleep, and head just doesn't feel right.

Brief Answer:
Get CT head and consult a neurologist
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Head injury in your case doesn't look very problematic as you have got only headache with nausea and vomiting.
The possibility of bleeding is very less and if present may be of small amount requiring no treatment.
I hope there is no history of loss of consciousness, seizures, hearing loss, bleeding via ear and nose.
If you are worried you can get a CT head plain.
For treatment you should take amitryptiline with cinnarizine.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Do get back to me for further queries.

Thank you. Regarding the amitryptiline with cinnarizine, is there any brand over the counter with that, or is that an RX (prescription)?
Thanks. It happened one week ago today. The first day with no dizziness and my appetite increased.
I was just asking if you needed an RX or if can be bought over counter.
I will search online or ask pharmacist.

Brief Answer:
Get brands on Internet
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Drugs brand can be searched on Internet as it is restricted from this forum to advise brand names. In my patients I prefer 10mg amitryptiline in night with three times dosing of cinnarizine.

Brief Answer:
Take treatment as advised
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,
Your head injury is not of severe grade and doesn't require CT scan.
Mild eyes redness may be present and isn't really concerning.
If you have access to visit a doctor/physician, you can discuss about using amitryptiline 10 mg daily night for around 1 month along with pain killers. That should help you.
Mild headache post trauma is common and improves in weeks to month.
Nothing to worry.
