What Causes Dizziness Post Reclast Infusion?
Question: I had reclast infusion on April 13. Still have lightheadness -feeling like I am going to pass out. Never had this before. Is this normal?
Brief Answer:
Could be due to low blood pressure or low blood sugar
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
Reclast (zoledronic acid) is used to treat osteoporosis in women after menopause and also to treat Paget's disease. At your age, I guess it is being given due to the former. It is a month since you last received the infusion of reclast. So it is highly unlikely that the lightheadedness is related. These are not to be considered normal. The mentioned symptoms could arise due to a number of causes including low blood pressure or low blood sugar. In any case, you should seek medical attention at the earliest. Going to the ER without delay would be a better idea.
