What Causes Dizziness, Stomach Upset And Low BP?
Question: My husband just ate some a chocolate candy bar on an empty stomach and then ate dinner. He felt very dizzy and sick to his stomach. I took his blood pressure and it was 102/54. This has happened before. Is this a sign of diabetes and what should I do to help him get over his dizziness?
Brief Answer:

Detailed Answer:
Good day,
Noted your concern.
Could you please elaborate little bit on his symptom?
Did the dizziness happen on standing up or changing position ? Any ear ache or ringing sound in ears? Any nose blocks or stuffiness in nose ?
Did he turn pale ir sweat during this episode?
Did he use alcohol prior to these episodes ?
Would appreciate a reply

He was sitting when he started feeling dizzy and light-headed. He went to lay down after that and asked for a cold wet cloth for his head. He said he was hot and commented that he felt sleepy. There was no ringing in his ears. He was not stuffy at the time. We do not drink alcohol, so there was none in his system. I did not notice that he was pale.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you the reply.
To answer your question, this is not a sign of diabetes. However, the blood pressure was on low normal side. Since it has happened before he may need investigations to rule out other causes.
To prevent a future attack, it is important to identify the cause. The main tests required are an ECG ( probably a holter monitor of heart as well) and an EEG. Apart from this, he may also require some blood works like fasting blood sugar, electrolytes and lipid profile
