Could be viral labyrinthitis
Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for your query.
As per your history, I am in opinion that all your symptoms suggest mostly viral labyrinthitis, that is viral infection of inner ear.
Not necessary that you should have fever always.
This is not related to flu shots, or flu symptoms.
If I were your treating doctor, I would have first clinically examined you, confirmed my diagnosis, treatment is with labyrinthine sedatives like cinnarizine 25 to 50 mg for 2 weeks along with oral steroids. All these are prescript medicines. Hence I would suggest you to consult with the doctor and get evaluated properly. Hope my answers have helped you.
Thanks.

It's now the fourth day in bed. I'm still experiencing dizziness. I am eating lightly and drinking fluids. No more vomiting. A doctor/friend thought initially it may be salmonella poisoning which about 12 hours previous to the beginning of my violent vomiting and dizziness I had eatin a small amount of cookie dough. What are your thoughts on that possibility? Going back to your preliminary diagnosis of the inner ear infection, how is that diagnosed? And if left untreated will it go away in it's own time? It is very difficult to get up and walk so I'm affraid to try and go see a doctor. Do you think there are doctors who make house calls anymore?
Brief Answer:
consult with the doctor.
