I was standing playing golf and did'nt lose consciousness, neither do I have diabetes or heart condition. I'm on 1.5mg of Istin for past 5 yrs and also on 1800mg of Gabapentin for 2 yrs to treat peripheral neuropathy in my lower legs.
Brief Answer:
What is the cause of peripheral neuropathy?Autonomic dysfunction.
Detailed Answer:
Hi Hynespi,
Thanks for being in follow-up and providing further details.
Taking note of the important history, that you are a known case of peripheral neuropathy, autonomic dysfunction should be ruled out.Autonomic neuropathy, may accompany peripheral neuropathy and may be the cause of your dizzy spell.
You should get blood pressure measurements in standing and supine position to look for postural drop in blood pressure. Also, autonomic function tests may be of help.
However,it is still not clear, that what is the etiology of your peripheral neuropathy. I would like to know the cause of neuropathy. If there are any details about the same, please update.Autonomic dysfunction is more common in some of the etiologies.

My peripheral neuropathy diagnosis came as result of a battery of tests incl lumbar puncture requested by a neurologist to whom I was referred 2 yrs ago after enduring lower leg rigidity/cramp like symptoms , mainly at night which interferes with my sleep, I also have tremors in my hands which have got worse in the recent pas, which may be genetic as my mother also had a similar condition.
Brief Answer:
Postural hypotension/Autonomic function tests.
Detailed Answer:
Hi Hynespi,
Thanks for being in follow-up.
Though, the etiology of your peripheral neuropathy is still not clear. However,I am of the opinion that autonomic dysfunction should be meticulously ruled out.
I suggest you to get yourself evaluated for postural fall in blood pressure and autonomic function tests battery.
Management can be planned,if test results show abnormality.
Hope that I have answered your query. If you have some further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up else please close the thread, rate it and write a review.
