What Causes Dry Blood In Ears?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: Hi. Last week I scraped my ear canal with a qtip. I know you shouldn't use them in your ear but I was cleaning the outside and banged my elbow into to wall while using it. I went to the ENT and did not puncture anything just scraped it. They gave me drops to use daily. I went to my regular dr today and asked her to look to see if it was clearing up. She said there was some dry blood still left. How do I get it out? Will it just fall out eventually. Should I continue to use the drops each day?
Brief Answer:
Just fall out eventually and no need to worry
Detailed Answer:
Hi Mam,
I have gone through your query; it suggests that blood in the ear may be either due to the trauma in the external auditory canal or trauma in the tympanic membrane.
If you have decrease in the hearing loss then there is a chance of the traumatic perforation of the tympanic membrane. Blood has no side effect in the external auditory canal. It will just fall out eventually and no need to worry about this.
You can continue the drops for 3 more days.
If you have any doubt, I will be available for your query.
Wish you good health
