Is it treated easily? How do they diagnosis it? Could a person with no nerve injury develop gastroparesis?
Brief Answer:
Please follow the information below...
Detailed Answer:
Hi, XXXX
Scleroderma is an autoimmune rheumatoid disease.
The diagnostic process require blood studies and numerous other specialized tests depending upon which organs are affected, skin biopsy etc.
With regards to gastroparesis we can say that small intestine is the second GI organ involved in scleroderma after the esophagus.
Manometry study of small intestine in these patients reveals a hypomotility pattern and uncoordinated contractions that suggests neuropathy.
Currently, there is no cure for scleroderma, but there are many treatments available to help particular symptoms depending of the organs involved.
Hope it was of help.
