What Causes Dryness In Throat Along With Dizziness When Suffering From GERD?
Question: Hello Doctor,
I am having the below symptoms.
1) In the evening time i feel something is strucked in my throat and feeling dryness in throat.
2) Feeling little feverish & light headache.
I already have GERD and i am taking Omeprezol before food always. I already contacted Gastro specialist and he suggested to me to take Omeprezol.
But now i am not sure why i am getting this light throat pain and feeling a kind of struckness in throat only in evening and morning time.
Need your advise.

Hi,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having throat pain. I would like to ask you few more details.
Is there any difficulty in swallowing ?
Is your head-ache associates with nasal blockage ?

Based on your clinical details, it appears to be sinusitis causing sore throat (post nasal drip- sinus secretions trickling the throat ) (pharyngitis) and head-ache.
I suggest the following measures, to overcome your head-ache.
1. steam inhalation twice daily.
2. Take anti allergic medication like tab. levocet+ d (citrizine +phynylehrine) one at bed time.
3. TAB.dolo 650mg (paracetamol)for head-ache.
4. cap.amoxcillin 500 mg thrice daily (medical prescription needed).
In case of persistence, needs to be evaluated with ent surgeon to rule out other causes.
I have seen reports, urine test is normal and one of liver enzyme value is elevated (Alkaline phosphatase), it can be due to alcohol consumption or any inflammation of liver.
Since all your other values are normal do not worry about much But discuss about this with your doctor.

I do not have any habit of taking alcohol and smoking. During headache I am not feeling blockage of nose.
