What Causes Dull Ache Under Left Shoulder Blade?
Question: I have a dull ache under my left shoulder blade when I lean against it when sitting or laying down. Does this need to be checked out?

The ache has been there for several months. No increase with respiration and no memory of trama and no swelling.

From the history you have given me it looks like the pain is arising from the bone. Bone pains are common in women in their menopause. I would like you to get a x ray of the scapula ( shoulder blade) and also check calicum and Vit D levels. Low Vit D can cause bone pain
If it is a dull pain I would not recommend any pain killers, local application of diclofenac gel can give some relief
