What Causes Dull Sore Abdominal Pain, Painful Menstruation And Bloating?
Question: I am 29, 5'3" 110lbs female. I have dull pain and a firm sore spot around my right ovary, painful periods and bloating. I have been trying to conceive for 18months. I easily conceived and gave birth to my first two children. Yet I have an two first trimester miscarriages in the last year. An ultrasound 6 months ago did not show any significant cysts. I took 200mg progesterone the last 15 days of my period for January through March. Now in May, I wonder what is wrong and what do I do next. Is this ovary pain a cyst?

Th typical symptom of dull pain in th ovarian region especially during the mid cycle can indicate a possible ovulation and it shall last only for few days but if the pain is persistent through out the cycle then there are chances that there may be a large cyst or a possible endometriosis which can cause pain during menses. The pain can often be seen during periods in cases of adenomyosis as well which can be ruled out with a repeat ultrasound pelvis.
The bloating sensation is a part of PMS symptom and is natural to have few days prior to start of menses. You can continue progesterone in the last 15 days especially after ovulation.
So get an ultrasound done and keep a track of ovulation, if possible with follicle monitoring or with available ovulation kits.
