What Causes Elbow Pain When Diagnosed With Wisdom Tooth Eruption?
Question: I recently visited the dentist related oral pain. The was practically my entire mouth and it radiated to my left side, effecting my neck, shoulder and upper arm. I'd self medicate with ibuprofen 400 - 800mg. Since seeing my dentist and being diagnosed with an eruption of my wisdom tooth, I'd been put on Augmentin and Narco. The meds help to ease the pain but this is my 2nd day on it and I've noticed that I have swelling to the inner aspect of my left elbow. There is mild pain to the area and also numbness to my fingers. What is causing this, and what should I do!

Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone through your query. The swelling on the inner aspect of your left elbow does not seem to have any correlation to the eruption of the wisdom tooth. However, I need to take a look. I request you to upload an image of the area near your elbow (with an arrow pointing) so that I would be better able to comment. The numbness of your fingers seems to indicate a nerve compression. However, I would need your inputs and would wait for it.

Swelling went away. I do still feel some mild discomfort. I believe it may be related to nerve compression as well. I'm still on ABT tx, and taking the Narco for pain. Yesterday my heart started aching. It feels like the same feeling I've gotten with a flu when my lungs felt like it was difficult to clear/cough and it aches when inhaling, that is what my heart feels like, it hurts on the intake. The pain is seldom and on a scale of 0-10, I would say it's a 7.
Brief Answer:
The chest pain could be due to gastritis.
Detailed Answer:
Thannks for writing back. Sorry for not being able to respond faster.
Pain medicines are ill reputed for their gastric irritant properties and it is likely that the heartburn that you are facing is due to gastritis. If that is the case, taking some antacid will provide relief for the time being while you would need to take omeprazole once daily before breakfast for the next few days. The pain medicines are to be taken after food. Take small but frequent meals. Be patient. Things should be fine again soon.
