What Causes Elevated Creatinine Level?
My age 35
I have high Creatinine 2.00 and found protein in urine
My creatinine level is increasing every month .10 per month. my creatinine level was 1.6 in August 2014 and now its reached to 2.00. I have gone through biopsy in Dec.14 as per nephrologist consultation. As per biopsy report doctor told me this may CKD or FSGS disease and advised to take 6 Renolog tablet per day (Two tables three times), a folic acid tablet per day & continue with BP tablet Cardace H 5 mg and called me after 30 days with new diagnostic report.
I am taking Cardace H 5 mg every day morning since last 4 month and thinking this may be one reason to increase my creatinine level. My BP is between 110-100 and 70-60. I have stopped taking non veg food and going for 30 minutes walk daily.
Please advise whether should I continue with Cardace H 5mg and what reason for increase in Creatinine.
I am attaching my blood, Urine and Biopsy report.
Thanks XXXXXXX Malkar
Renal Angiogram will help decide the fate of Cardace
Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir.
I understand your query and concern.
I have gone through all your uploaded reports as well.
The likely cause of serially elevated creatinine in your case could be an underlying renal vascular disease which can lead to either CKD or FSGS.
It can otherwise be related to FSGS or CKD alone without an intervening renal vascular disease like Renal artery stenosis/RAS.
But considering your age it's extremely important to rule out RAS,because in all cases of renal vascular diseases, cardace is contraindicated.
In all such cases, its important not to continue Cardace as it can lead to elevated creatine over a time period .
It extremely important to rule out renal vascular disease which can lead to high blood pressure and eventual renal failure.
This can done with the help of CT scan of kidneys or renal angiography.
Cardace needs to be replaced only in cases of persistently elevated serum potassium levels or significant renal vascular disease.
Post your further queries,if any.
Thank you.
