Question: I am a male 74 years old person with diabetes typ 2 for last 15 years.
Initially it was kept under control with diet control and yoga.Later I started taking XXXXXXX Ramdev`s medicine MADHUNASHNI But for last three years the things had gone bad and with this medicine alone and yoga things went out of control.I then consulted a diabetologist and he prescribed me Metformin 500 BD.For about a year this was O K But again the sugar level started going up Now Doctors put me on Glycimet 80 M twice a day plus glyclazide 80 only at night. All these meds before food.
My sugar level is now well under control.I regularly go for sugar test and this time sugar fasting was 105 and PP{ 141.Hba1c reading is now 6.5.Earlier it used to vary between 6.9 to 7.1.I have no BP or heart problem. My BP always remain at around 130/75 to 140/85.Sensation on my feet is pretty bad.
I have slightly enlarged prostrate gland and urine retention has been found to be 25 % this time.Earlier it used to be 10 to 15 %.My creatinine level has now gone up to 1.52.Estmated GFR is found to be 45.Earlier it used to be 1.3 to 1.4.It is a matter of concern to me Among the abnormal figures in my blood test are the following.
Lipid Profile ;-- Serum triglyceres 172, VLDL 34.4, Total cholestrol/HDL ratio 4.5Albumin/creatnine Ratio Urine is Ok within limits
Comlete blood count with ESR Homoglobin 12.7, RDW 14.1, ESR ( westgrens ) 21, All other figures within limits
Liver function test serum globulin 4.00, serum albumin/globulin ratio 1.02
serum creatinine 1.51 Rechecked, estimated GFR 45.serum uric acid 8.6.
Incidently a week before this test I had very sever rash all over my back and face.I was prescribed allegra 180 to be taken 3 times a day for a weeks time and then reduced to 2 times a day for next 10 days coupled with external ointment for application..Doctor had advised me to go for IGE level check up in nthe blood The figures were 1319.4 against normal figure of 150.Could this be the reason for my ele4vated creatinine level ?

Brief Answer:
elevated creatinine is not due to IgE levels

Detailed Answer:
Dear sir greetings from HCM. I understand your concern . I have read the question in detail. Elevated Immunoglobulin E levels and serum creatinine levels need not be linked. Unless in very special circumstances. Ig E levels indicate that there is some allergic component involved.
The elevated serum creatinine could be due to diabetic nephropathy. Good glycemic control and taking ACE inhibitors or ARBs will decrease the progression . any way meet your doctor for the prescription.
Your medications are ok please continue the same with lifestyle changes.
Continue yoga, take good nutritious food I think you will be alright .
