What Causes Elevated Glucose Level In Blood?
Intervention should not be based on a single reading
Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome
I appreciate your concern
I would strongly recommend against trying to lower the blood glucose whether fasting or random based on a single reading. The resulting hypoglycemia by either increasing the dose or adding a medication can be much more dangerous. HBA1C should be done and a sulfonylurea or sitagliptin drug can be added if the HBA1C is persistently on the higher side. Metformin dose can also be increased accordingly. Meanwhile, diet control by having small but regular meals, avoiding sweets, preferring complex carbohydrates to simple sugars, regular exercise are some of the lifestyle changes that can help in controlling the blood sugar.
Wishing you best of health
