What Causes Elevated Postprandial Glucose Levels?
Diet modified and exercise needed
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your message.
I think I can help you.
The fasting sugars are ok.
It's the PPBS that's rising. I would ideally suggest that you change your diet pattern.
However, I am sure you have already done that.
So I would like to consider the possibility of hiking the dose.
I am also assuming this is the regular pattern. I won't suggest change on the basis of 1 test.
First , diet change if not already done so.
Second change from plain metformin to extended release forms of metformin.
Addition of sitagliptin may be considered thereafter.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information contained in this message will be able to help you find the best solution for your problem. Best of luck. Dr Mittal.
most commonly used is Glycomet SR
Detailed Answer:
There are many medicines.
The most commonly used is Glycomet SR.
It comes in many strengths and you can continue the same dose you are taking now. If needed, it can be made 1 gm from 500 mg at a later date.
Best of luck.
Dr Mittal
