Brief Answer:
As mentioned below

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for writing to HCM. Noted your query.

1. The glucose levels in the fasting state is determined by the amount of release of glucose from the liver at night. The release of glucose is controlled by insulin. When one has resistance to the action of insulin (which is one of the reason one becomes diabetic/pre diabetic) the fasting glucose levels exceeds 100. So even if you had a turkey burger it can go high. You should try to move towards brown bread rather than white which contributes to a glucose spike and also has a role in the formation of fatty liver which is a marker that the liver is insulin resistant.

2. The relationship with mood is not documented. How would you say your quality of sleep is?

3. Three things. Loose weight - it improves insulin sensitivity. Exercise for 30 mts atleast daily - helps again with insulin sensitivity. Once your body becomes sensitive to insulin your glucose levels will surely drop.

I would suggest you do a 2 hr 75 gram glucose tolerance test.
Take care.

Brief Answer:
Yes. in the long term.

Detailed Answer:
Well the short term effects of smoking on diabetes is unclear. However chronic smoking can affect both insulin secretion and its action.

Moreover it amplifies ones risk of complications.

Please avoid it. That's better.

Take care.
