What Causes Enlarged And Distended Bladder?
Question: I had a cat scan and it showed quite an enlarged and distended bladder. They tried to catheterize me and very
little urine came through the catheter. My doctor now thinks it is more complicated. They drew blood and tested for ovarian cancer and it was negative. What are some other possibilities of what might be causing the blockage and the enraged bladder? I am a 62 year old active woman and have always been in good health.

The possible causes are distended bladder and ovarian cyst.
Now that the urine is minimal in the catheter ( assuming that the catheter is not blocked), we have to think in terms of ovarian cyst.
If not cancerous, then the blood test will be negative.
In this situation, one has to study the CAT seen better, discuss with the RADIOLOGIST and possibly do a diagnostic laparoscopy.
