What Causes Erection Of Penis While Waking Up In Children?
My Son just turned 2 years old and he is on the right track on his developments. just had a check up yesterday with his pediatrician and did mention everything is normal. One thing that I forgot to ask him was that I noticed that My son used to have erection when changing him especially in the morning but I have noticed I have not seen it for past couple of months. I am very concern specially that his Dr mentioned his skin around his penis is fused a little bit which he did mention its not a big deal and he gave us a steroid cream to apply so with more frequent erections he opens that part up. What would you suggest I should do?
I do have to mention that recently every time we want to change his diaper he is not cooperative and keep his legs together and is very resistance. although he also runs away every time we try to change his clothes as well.
Thanks in advance for your response.

Detailed Answer:\
Hi,
I can understand your concern for your child.
What you are referring to as erection is actually penile tumescence. Nocturnal penile tumescence is a spontaneous erection of the penis during sleep or when waking up. All men from infancy to old age without physiological erectile dysfunction experience nocturnal penile tumescence, usually three to five times during the night, typically during a specific time during sleep called Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep.
Do not worry much. It is normal.
About the foreskin , follow what your doctor has said. Keep the area clean and dry . Apply the cream as directed.
Now, coming to the resistance he is showing , be a little patient . Everything will be just fine.
