Question: I have take welbutrin for many years. It was increased to the XXXXXXX 450mg per day ~ still, the depression persisted, especially in the morning. I have been on lamictal 50 mg since Feb. I noticed a big change..I am happy to greet the day..Formerly had been diagonised with major depressive disorder. Have NEVER experienced any 'HIGH" or euphoria that I always hear about..does this mean I have bipolar?

Brief Answer:
not bipolar

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns.

I am glad to hear that you are finally feeling well and no longer depressed. You are definitely not bipolar. To be bipolar you need ot have cycles of depression and euphoria. And during the euphoria you might spent more money than you should, be more impulsive, have hyper sexuality or have grandiose ideation. Yo mention none of these behaviors therefore you are not bipolar. You are a major depressive patient in remission. Enjoy your new found energy and feeling of well being.
